Helllloooooooo! We're back! Despite our bad habit of procrastination, Sami and I have finally scheduled our fun five-kilometer charity event where you guys could run, walk, bike, or skate to help us raise scholarships for children of the Dream of a Future charity; it will be held at the Benjakiti Park on May 8, at 8:30 am. We are thrilled to invite all Berkeley students, parents, and teachers to this exciting event, even though we still have lots of work to do for this event. It's going to be a busy week for us as we have to deal with the consequences of procrastinating by cramming a million things into a little over a week. We have yet to check and gather more information about the Benjakiti Park, confirm Student Council's sponsorship and aid, recruiting student staffs to help us manage the event, preparing the drinks and snacks (which are going to be free of charge), and creating posters and giving mini-pitches to various classes to promote our event. And amidst all this, it's crucial for Sami to study for her SAT which will be on the day before the event. Therefore, I really have to be extra helpful and try my best to lift as much load off her as I can. Nevertheless, we’ll make sure that it'll be a great success and everyone will have a blast at the gathering!

From this event, we expect to raise a couple of thousands. However, we have sent out request letters to Berkeley parents for donations of 500-5000 baht (included in the 5K for a Dream permission slip) and planned to put out donations boxes around the school (one is currently in the school's office) for donations as well. Although the main purpose of this event is to raise as much money for our cause as possible, we believe it's essential to ensure that all participants receive the best experiences because it'd be inconsiderate and unethical of us to take all of their genuine help for granted. Plus, if we leave a great impression, then there's a high chance that this charity event could hopefully be held annually. If that actually happens, we could finally say that we've made a difference in society, despite how little it may be.
**For Berkeley students, Coach Mike and Mr. Wayne will be recruiting prospective members for Berkeley’s first-ever cross-country team at the event. (If you’re interested, you really don't want to miss out!)**
