20 Time Project: Dream of A Future

OUR PROJECT - SCHOLARSHIPS FOR DREAM OF A FUTURE'S FAMILIES

At the end of last year, Sami (Samantha Ballesteros) and I had the chance to visit 4 of Dream of a Future charity's schools within the Klong Toey slums. There, we got to experience the neighborhood which has extremely poor living conditions. We discovered that numerous children are currently living in an area that's being run by local mafias, surrounded by drug/alcohol addicts as well as delinquents. Because of all these illegal activities and violence, we believe that this is a terrible neighborhood for developing children and youths to dwell in, as there is an exceedingly high chance for them to be influenced by these bad habits that would certainly ruin their futures. Therefore, we would like to help these children out in some way, and the way we've chosen is to raise money to fund for their scholarships for a few disadvantaged families (with the worst situations)in the Klong Toey slums. This would enable the families to support themselves better and hopefully result in the children going to school again (some had to drop out to look after their siblings because their parents had to work, had no money, or neglected them).

However, we still have some questions such as, how are we going to raise the money? Is it going to be a one time thing or is it going to be monthly. At the moment, we are more inclined to raising enough money for a one time donation or a year scholarship for one child/teenager. Check out future blogs to see how our progress!
