Questions
Personal Unit Overview: What did you achieve this unit?
In this unit, I’ve learned about Spanish words that are needed to ask questions. For example, querer, quién, qué, para qué, por qué, con quién, etc. I've had a lot of writing and speaking practices using question words. The last activity I did was the Question Dialogue which I did with my friend, Tarn.
Enduring Understandings: How can questions help you to learn a language?
Questions are crucial when learning a language. Without askings, our knowledge would be very limited because we aren't discovering new things from various sources. We need to ask questions to resolve any confusion we may have and gain knowledge from the answers we get. If you're learning a new language from someone whose native language isn't the same as yours, knowing how to ask basic questions in their language would make your learning process much easier and more efficient.
Unit Standards:
-
Address topics related to daily life, their selves, and the immediate
environment -
Engage in oral and written conversation
-
Interpret written and spoken language
-
Use spelling and phonology to understand and produce words and phrases in context
-
Use sentence-level elements to understand and produce communication
Area of strength: Which standard was your strength and why?
My strength is interpreting written and spoken language and engaging in oral and written conversation because learning new languages has always been my passion. It's very interesting so I'm always enthusiastic when learning new languages and looking up new words or phrases in my own time, and that's why it's not difficult for me to speak or show my understanding of Spanish at all.
Area of growth: Which standard needs improvement and how can you improve for the future?
I think my understanding for this unit and the previous units are very strong. However, I would like to improve t by speaking more Spanish with my classmates and teachers in and out of class.
